Every day thousands of people die because they (or their healthcare providers) are unable to access relevant, reliable healthcare information.
The availability and use of reliable healthcare information is dependent on a functional global evidence ecosystem, whereby multiple actors generate, publish, synthesise, package, signpost and apply evidence. HIFA directly addresses three intrinsic weaknesses of this system: communication, understanding and advocacy.
How we will use your money…
HIFA works in official relations with the World Health Organization to improve the availability and use of reliable healthcare information, and to protect people from misinformation. HIFA brings together more than 20,000 health and information professionals in multiple languages to address every aspect of this global health issue.
Your donation will be used to directly support HIFA activities. These include facilitating forum discussions in multiple languages, deep-dive explorations of key issues, building an understanding of information needs and how to meet them, and advocacy to secure the political and financial support needed to achieve universal access.

HIFA works directly to strengthen communication, understanding and advocacy among all stakeholders in the global evidence ecosystem. Together we are building a world where every person has access to the information they need to protect their own health and the health of others. Lack of access to reliable healthcare information will no longer be a major cause of death and suffering.
We need your support…
HIFA is launching a global consultation in August 2023 in official relations with WHO. This includesa public online survey, thematic discussions on the HIFA forums, and key informant interviews.We need NEW funding to cover the costs of the consultation. Can you help?
This consultation will help inform action by WHO, HIFA and partners in 2024 and beyond towards universal access, guided by a collaboration agreement that will require additional staff, at a total cost of £150,000 per year.
